ASTM A283 Grade C used for general purpose structural applications of medium strength (60 KSI tensile) requirement. ASTM A283 Grade C Carbon Steel Plate can be welded by all conventional methods. Its heat treatment consists of normalizing at 1650 F and slow furnace cool. ASTM A283 Grade A structural steel plates it has the lowest strength and highest ductility compared to the other grade of ASTM A283 steel. There is a low & intermediate tensile strength hot Rolled steel for general intermediate strength applications. ASTM A283 Grade B is made by one or more of the following processes such as the electric furnace, open hearth, and basic oxygen.
