Super duplex stainless steel is a type of stainless steel belonging to a special family of steels called the duplex steel. Duplex is a material that is made out of a chromium, molybdenum and nickel alloy. This alloy has a dual nature that contains properties of the ferritic steel and the austenitic steel. This dual nature causes the steel to be stronger and at the same time be corrosion resistant. There are three major groups of duplex; namely, the standard duplex, the super duplex and the lean duplex. The Super duplex has the highest pitting corrosion resistance. The piping systems in desalination plants, fuel systems, chemical industries and food processing industries use the super duplex grades. There are sheets, plates, pipes, fittings and other accessories made out of this material. The Super duplex steel suppliers sell all the different products of super duplex according to the need of the customers.
