ASTM A387 Grade 9 is a chrome-molybdenum which is an ideal material for welded pressure vessels and boilers used in elevated temperature service. They have excellent resistance to high temperature and corrosion, this type of steel is commonly used in the oil, gas, petrochemical, and power generation industry. SA 387 gr 9 chemical requirements are carbon 0.15max, manganese 0.25-0.66, phosphorus 0.030max, sulphur 0.030max, silicon 1.05max, chromium 7.9-10.1, molybdenum 0.85-1.15.
