The ASTM B725 UNS N04400 Welded Pipes are stronger due to the welded nature. The material allows welding with ease because of the less carbon content in it and as a result less carbide precipitation. Monel 400 Pipe is a grade of Monel alloys. Monel has the addition of other elements in specified quantities. It is a super alloy made up of nickel. The addition of copper makes the material resistant to most acids. The Alloy 400 Seamless Pipe has less surface roughness reducing the reacting capacity of the pipe material with the fluid inside and outside the pipes, and it is the most used form of the pipes.
These pipes are used in highly corrosive environments such as sea water and chemical plants. The fluids inside will affect the pipe as well the ones outside. The Monel 400 Seamless Pipes has high thermal conductivity as well. The Alloy 400 Pipes are used only with special cases where other types of pipes could not be used as substitutes. The 2.4360 Monel 400 Hollow Pipes are therefore used only in a select application that cannot replace these pipes with something else.
