Coated Steel Pipes is a metal pipe that is coated with some other material to for various purposes. There are poly ethylene coatings, Galvanized Iron coatings and other material coatings depending on the need of the application and the grade of the pipes. The Coated Gas Pipes are coated with galvanized iron so that the pipes material is not directly in contact with the outer or inner environment of the pipe. The GI coating acts as a resistant layer that does not allow the gas inside the pipes or the air and moisture outside the pipes to corrode the pipes.
The Galvanized Gi Coated Pipes are mostly used in domestic and industrial water supply lines to keep the cost low by employing low cost corrosive metal pipes coated with galvanized iron. There is another type called the Insulated Steel Pipes. This type of pipes is used mainly for the passage of fluids or gas in heated stage and to maintain the heat. The Pre Insulated Steel Pipes usually consists of three layers, the inner metallic layer, the middle insulation layer and the outer coated layer.
